Sporting Clube de Goa announced on Monday that midfielder Biswa Darjee has extended his contract with the club for another year, solidifying his position as a key player for the Flaming Oranje.
Darjee, who joined Sporting Clube de Goa last season, has been instrumental in the club’s recent successes, including their promotion to I-League 2 and triumph in the Goa Professional League.
The talented midfielder’s impact on the field has been significant, with three goals in I-League 2 and an impressive tally of five goals in the Goa Professional League. His contributions have not gone unnoticed, as he quickly established himself as a mainstay in the Flaming Oranje midfield.
Sporting Clube de Goa CEO, Welvin Menezes, expressed his delight at retaining Darjee’s services. “Biswa has been a revelation for us since he joined the club. His work ethic, vision on the field, and ability to contribute both defensively and offensively make him an invaluable asset to our team. We’re thrilled to have him commit his future to Sporting Clube de Goa for another year.”
Darjee himself seemed equally pleased with the extension. When reached for comment, he stated, “I’m excited to continue my journey with Sporting Clube de Goa. The past year has been incredible, and I feel I’ve grown tremendously as a player. The support from the fans, my teammates, and the management has been overwhelming. I’m looking forward to building on our successes and helping the club achieve even greater heights in the coming season.”
The midfielder’s decision to extend his stay comes at a crucial time for Sporting Clube de Goa, as they prepare for the challenges of I-League 2. The club will be looking to Darjee to maintain his impressive form and help spearhead their campaign for further promotion.
