Kaylani, WB- Sporting Clube de Goa’s I-League 2 season took a turn with a closely contested 1-0 defeat to United Sports Club (United SC) in their fourth match at the Kalyani Stadium on Saturday.
The game saw a turning point in the 10th minute when United SC’s Tarak Hebram converted a penalty, awarded following a handball incident inside the box. Despite this early setback, Sporting Clube de Goa showed resilience and continued to press forward.
Sporting Clube de Goa’s lineup for the match featured Abhimanyu Singh in goal, with a defensive backline of Kunal Kundaikar, Joel Colaco, Myron Fernandes and Joyner Lourenco. The midfield saw Biswa Darjee, Ivon Costa, Dattaraj Gaonkar and Naocha Singhdictate play, while Doyal Alves and Rohan Rodrigues led the attack. In the second half, Sporting Clube de Goa took control of possession, maintaining a strong attacking presence looking to equalize. Despite a number of promising chances, the team was unable to find the back of the net, with both teams battling hard but unable to convert their opportunities.The match concluded with a 1-0 victory in favor of United Sports Club.
United SC move up to 7 points while Sporting Clube de Goa remain on 4 points.
